ABOUT PAT
I am a freelance writer who segued into performing after I went out of office after two years as President of the Mt. Diablo Branch of The California Writers Club. In 1997 I was asked to do Gertrude Stein at CWC's California Authors Night and have been doing that show every year since.
The research is fascinating and I have come to know eight very strong women who made it on their own during times when it wasn't easy to be a woman alone, especially a writer. The booklet on Stein features her quotes, for which she was most famous. In the booklet on Jackson, I've told the story of her life.
After graduating University of Minnesota with a BA in journalism, I worked in advertising. In 1995 I was honored by The California Writers Club with the Jack London Award. And in the May 1999 issue of Diablo Magazine, because of my performances, I was featured as one of five women from the East Bay "who have reinvented themselves in midlife and are quietly constructing the biggest revolution since feminism."
That's a bit much but
I
do enjoy the research and performing and would love to hear
from you.
