Newsman and self-publishing guru Jim Kruger
CONTROLLING YOUR DESTINY . . .
SUCCESS THRU SUBSIDY PUBLISHING
Most writers know the long frustration of finding an agent, only to discover that getting the book sold to a publishing house is an equally rocky road. You know your work is good and polished to a fare-thee-well and yet, you suspect no one is even giving it a look.
After many years in journalism, Jim Kruger dreamed of being recognized as a novelist. In the wee hours of the night and on top of a full time job, he wrote his first book, completing it in '74. He then wrote four novels in the 80's and a fifth in the 90's, planning to market them as a retirement project. But life rarely turns out as planned. Family challenges kept him away from his work, and it wasn't until 2001 when a close friend urged him to return to his writing. But at this point, Kruger no longer felt he had the time to slog through the traditional agent-publisher battlefield. And like many retirees, he had disposable income to spend on getting his writing to readers. The result was Stranger in the Mirror, published by Infinity Publishers. Vantage Press is publishing The Bachelor Portraits and three others are ready to go.
