Susan Page

THE SHORTEST DISTANCE BETWEEN YOU AND A PUBLISHED BOOK

Do you have a persistent vision of walking into a bookstore and seeing copies of your book featured? Susan Page wants to tell us some steps you can't avoid if you want that dream to come true. She is the author of the guidebook, The Shortest Distance Between You and a Published Book. Richard Carlson, author of  Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, called this book, "the most thorough, accurate, user-friendly, well-organized and inspiring guide for writers on the market today."

Coaching writers is actually a sideline for Susan. In her other life, she is a nationally know relationship expert who has been writing and conducting workshops for couples and singles since 1980. She is also the author of 3 relationship books: If I'm So Wonderful, Why Am I Still Single?, The 8 Essential Traits of Couples Who Thrive, and How One of You Can Bring the Two of You Together. Susan has appeared on Good Morning America, Oprah, Donahue, Geraldo, Leeza, Montel, Sonya, CNN and NPR. Excerpts of Susan's works have appeared or been reviewed in People, USA Today, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Self, New Woman, McCall's, Woman, Marriage, and Lotus Magazines.

Before turning to relationship writing and workshops full time in 1980, Susan served as the Director of Women's Programs at the UC Berkeley and as the Executive Director of a Child Abuse Prevention Agency where she helped to found a shelter for battered women. She began her career as a Protestant campus minister at Washington University in St. Louis and Columbia University in New York, after receiving a B.A. from Oberlin College and a Master of Divinity degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary.

This bestselling author and leading consultant to other writers knows the difference between common industry wisdom that doesn't work and the precise, easy-to-follow strategies that actually get results. She will share with us the five biggest mistakes she sees authors make and how to avoid them, and how rapid changes in the publishing world affect authors.
