Kathryn G. McCarty




Kathryn G. McCarty will share tips for finding inspiration for stories from real life at our June meeting on Saturday, June 10 at the Concord Holiday Inn, 1050 Burnett Avenue, Concord.  Ms. McCarty is a playwright and screenwriter as well as the artistic director of the East Bay’s Galatean Players Ensemble Theatre.
   
In less than 10 years, Kathryn G. McCarty has celebrated sixteen world premiere productions, as well as numerous workshop readings of her plays. Her work has been produced at the Galatean Players Ensemble Theatre, Onstage Theatre, New Conservatory Theatre, Contra Costa College and The Dean Lesher Regional Center for the Arts. She is a three-time Shellie Award winner:
1996 - "Outstanding Contribution to the Arts," 2000 - Best Director ("Making Mary"), and 2001- Best Production of the year ("Falsettos"). She is an experienced performer and director as well as a playwright and says she “crafts comedy into the darkest of circumstances.”
