Who We Are

The Mt. Diablo Branch is one of seventeen branches of the California Writers Club (CWC). We are a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a forum to educate both members and the public in the art and craft of writing and in the marketing of their work, through public meetings, workshops, and special programs. We meet monthly (except in July and August) to hear writers, editors, teachers, publishers, and agents inform us about various aspects of the publishing industry.

As an organization of professional writers, we encourage our members to:
• dedicate themselves to their writing
• hone their writing craft
• support each other’s work and publishing successes, no matter how great or small
• become actively involved in the organization, while embracing a positive spirit of cooperation

Both published and non-published guests and the public are welcome at branch meetings.

A central board comprised of representatives from each branch provides unity and cohesiveness among the over 1,100 members that compose the statewide branches.
